Flooding

We have had some crazy weather this year. We had 2 major floods here. It rained like crazy and all the parks (which are water retention basins) were completely full.  They've never had rain or flooding like this so it overloaded the pumps and some didn't' work. It shut down some freeways and there was a lot of damage.  We had a little water damage on our wall but luckily nothing more. Some of our friends were not so lucky. At one point I was worried our pool was going to overflow but luckily it didn't. We had 2 of these floods.  I took pictures from both. Absolutely insane.  Unfortunately it has brought a lot of mosquitos with it. :(

The first one we went to check out the park by our house and basically the whole ward was out there.  Chris Russell brought out his kayaks and canoes and let the kids play. Dave Stanley rigged up a tree rope swing. The kids had a blast.

This is a HUGE park. This is where the pumps quite working and it's next to the canal. Between all that the entire park flooded.  Water was up past the basketball hoops.  I took these picture more than 24  hours after this happened and they'd been pumping out the water the whole time. The water was over 100 feet deep in places. They had to evacuate houses. I felt bad for those people.

Here are some after pics of the park to show you how big it is.

The second flood the kids went out back played in the rain. They had a blast.
