Christmas

We drove up to Idaho for Christmas.  Mike drove us up and spent the week of Christmas with us in Idaho.  We spent the first few days and Christmas day with my family then spent the last half of that week with Mike's family.  Everyone was in town in my family and in Mike's family.  This was a rare occasion and I don't even remember the last time this happened.  It was so amazing and so special.  It meant a lot to me that we could all be together.

Before Christmas we wrote letters to Santa and then went and mailed them in the big Santa box downtown.

Every couple was in charge of dinner and a game each night.  We played a lot of fun games including a serious candy bar game, a night at the gym playing basketball, dodgeball and other fun games, and even a sassy game of truth or dare.  It was quite fun.

Christmas Eve the kids got pajamas.  All the nieces and nephews got matching pajamas.

We also had the Tuellers over for our Christmas Eve party. The kids acted out the nativity and Madelyn got to play Mary.

Christmas morning was VERY chaotic.  There were 11 grandkids trying to figure out what Santa brought them.  Drake, Madelyn and Cache all got kindle Fires.  Cache was so confused bc he thought he got the ball toy that McKay got.  He just couldn't believe we got him a Kindle Fire.  McKay got this awesome ball toy.  You put the ball in a bunch of different places and it winds its way down to the bottom while playing music.  It's pretty cool.

When we stayed at Peterson's Grandma and Grandpa Peterson also got the kids pajamas.  They all looked so cute in them.

Grandma Julie makes Gingerbread Houses with my kids every year.  My kids love doing this and honestly they are dang cute.  McKay ate about 4 pieces of candy for every 1 he put on his house.

We went to Blast Off with everyone in Mike's family.  This is a fun Peterson family tradition.  The kids have a blast playing on the toys together and the adults love playing laser tag.

We also got to meet up with our really good friends from Chicago, Jed and Emily Erickson.  They are both from Rigby and were home visiting for Christmas also.  They are almost finished with their podiatry residency and hope they will end up somewhere close to us.  They have 3 kids, Ava, Kasen, and Kinsley.

I got to spend the next week with my family and Mike's family.  Mike had to go back to work in Arizona.  Mike ended up flying to Idaho to help drive me home.  We stopped at Mindy's on our way through and said hi to them.  It was a great Christmas break.
