The next day was the game. It was at Camp Randall Stadium which is an amazing football venue. They are very passionate about their team. It is so cool. We went to a lunch that BYU hosts before the game. Cosmo was there and they have fun events. We met up with Dave Palmer from our ward and his daughter Jessica. We also got to meet up with an old high school friend and his wife, Jeff Johnson.
Although we didn't win the game it was a cool experience. It's so fun to travel and watch the team play. I was seriously freezing cold though. My poor Arizona body has adjusted. I had 5 layers on top, 3 on bottom and still sat there shivering during the game. It was a day game too. I've turned into a wimp!
That night after the game we drove down to Gurnee, IL where we lived during medical school. We stayed in a hotel there. We went to dinner at our favorite restaurant, Giordanos. They have the best pizza ever! We went and saw our old house that we lived in and got to talk with the people that lived next door and were the landlords, Judy Craycraft. She is so sweet and we really miss her and Term.
We went to church on Sunday in our old ward. It was so fun to see a lot of the same people that still live there. Tons have moved and the ward has changed a lot but the familiar faces were so exciting to see.
It was really a trip down memory lane. We met up with Mike's med school buddies, Jake Shields and his wife Lauren and also his friend Kaushik.
It was so fun to drive around and visit all the old places we used to go. We spent 4 years in this town and it was our first real "home". It is where Madelyn and Cache were born and there are so many memories in that area.
